Membership Requirements

Sturbridge Retirement Cooperative Corporation (SRCC) is a resident-owned, age-restricted community. Membership is required for residency within the park.

To become a member, a buyer must:

  • Age Requirement – SRCC is a 55+ community. Residents of each household must be 55 years of age or older in order to qualify for membership.

  • Purchase a Unit and Park Share – All new residents must purchase both an existing home within the park and a $25,000 share in the Corporation. The share represents membership in SRCC and is a requirement for residency. Without the share, a buyer cannot become a resident of the park.

  • Sign Governing Documents – New members are required to sign the Proprietary Lease Agreement and related documents, as well as an acknowledgment confirming receipt of the SRCC Rules & Regulations, Bylaws, and other governing documents.

  • Board Approval – All sales and any new unit placements must be approved by the SRCC Board of Directors to ensure compliance with community rules, lot dimensions, and other requirements.

Only after these steps are completed will a buyer be considered a fully recognized member and resident of SRCC.
